Training Tedium

My goal was to log 1,000 miles before departing and it looks like I'll make it. I've put in close to 700, and am averaging some 75+ miles a week with warm weather and daylight saving time. I try to do 20-25 miles three times during the week and 30+ miles on Saturday, Sunday, or both. There are some nice circuits of this length. I particularly enjoy one that travels through horse country and then Fort Bragg. I may try a century if I can find one nearby.
That said, the sameness is getting boring. I can feel the difference in conditioning. All I need now is to lose ten to fifteen pounds and toughen my butt. I'm ready to start, but recognize that I must continue to go out in the evenings to stay fit. Thursday I ship my bike to the West Coast.
